Guna un Aivars Staņko

Senior Cabin Crew at airBaltic

Guna and Aivars Staņko met in a rather unusual place. It was an airBaltic Boeing 757 flight in 2009. They both remember it as an enjoyable trip – so much enjoyable that the very next day they went to the cinema together to see the newly released film Avatar. Two years later, during his wedding vows, Aivars thanked the “holy Boeing” for bringing them together.

Humour, lightness, love, and shared dreams of a big family have united them for 16 years. Both happily work at airBaltic, each pursuing their own career path, yet their love for flying remains unchanged. They only fly together in their free time, as no joint flights have been scheduled since their wedding, but that hasn’t diminished the joy of travelling side by side.

Guna laughs, admitting that the only thing that has changed over the years is that now their whole family takes up an entire row on the plane – as the Staņko family has grown to include three children. “Thank you, airBaltic – the airline makes our story even more colourful with new journeys and the work we love,” they say.
